The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) helps eligible Canadians access the dental care they need by covering many common oral health services. At AIMS Dentistry on Laclie, we’re pleased to welcome patients with CDCP coverage and help individuals and families throughout Orillia receive high-quality, prevention-focused dental care.
CDCP coverage in a nutshell
To qualify for the CDCP, you must be a Canadian resident, have filed your previous year’s tax return, have a family net income below $90,000, and not have access to private dental insurance. The highest amount of coverage (100%) applies to Canadians with a net family income of less than $70,000. If your family income is $80,000 or higher, the CDCP will cover 40% of approved treatments. Additional fees may also apply for services not fully covered by the plan.
Many common dental services are covered
The CDCP helps cover a wide range of preventive, diagnostic, and restorative dental services, including:
- Dental exams and cleanings
- X-rays and diagnostic services
- Fluoride treatments and sealants
- Fillings and restorative care
- Root canal treatments
- Dentures
- Tooth extractions and some oral surgeries
Some services require preauthorization before they’re covered. Our team can help explain what to expect before treatment begins.
Applying for the CDCP
